| Financial Partners Speaks to Los Angeles Teachers |
The forum allows Los Angeles teachers in the field of banking, accounting, and finance to ask real world professionals questions on how they can best prepare students for a career in the financial services industry. Financial Partners Human Resources Manager, Kim Magee, shared Financial Partners’ mission, hiring standards, and training. She emphasized the keys to success as being strong communication skills, the ability to interact comfortably with the public, a professional appearance, computer skills, and education. “The event was a huge success with take-aways on both sides. I personally enjoyed sharing tips with the teachers on what we look for when hiring young adults. Financial Partners takes pride in sharing our knowledge of the financial service industry and providing students the hands-on opportunity to learn more. We look forward to participating again next year,” stated Magee. The teachers gave feedback as well stating they appreciated Financial Partners’ dedication to internship programs. One ROP (Regional Occupational Program) instructor made special note to the audience that she was very impressed that Financial Partners President/CEO Nader Moghaddam took the time to meet each new student intern. At the end of the discussion Magee and other credit union representatives jointly presented a grant check for $3,000 to update the “Crosswalk” which translates the free Credit Union NEFE (National Endowment for Financial Education) into California Teaching Standards. |
